As Unibelt we ship our baking oven belts all over the world on a daily basis. From Indonesia to Canada, food processors rely on the quality of our unique belts. Every now and then, our team of specialists travels with our products to oversee on-site installations. This time, it was at a truly remarkable location.
One such project recently brought Unibelt service technician Stefan Heurter to Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan. Known for his extensive international experience, Stefan has worked on-site in countries such as Greece, Italy, Poland, Germany and the UK. For this assignment, he was joined by his colleague Joost Peeters, also a service technician, for the installation of a new baking oven belt and a clean belt system. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Steinhaus Group on behalf of the largest biscuit manufacturer in Kazakhstan.
The facility in Almaty needed a modern, efficient solution to improve both the baking process and the hygiene of its production line. Existing systems had become outdated and were no longer able to meet the growing demands for food safety and productivity. Especially in high-volume food production environments, clean and reliable equipment is key to maintaining standards and minimizing downtime.
The client chose Unibelt for the proven quality of our baking oven belts. These are known for their long service life, high hygiene standards and consistent performance, even under intensive use. In addition, the experience of our service technicians played an important role. By being present on-site, we were able to provide full support during installation and commissioning. This combination of quality, reliability and dedicated guidance made Unibelt a logical choice for this project.
Stefan and Joost installed a new baking oven along with a clean belt: a system designed to remove residue from conveyor belts using specialized brushes and gears. These belts are crucial for transporting products such as biscuits through the oven, and keeping them clean ensures consistent product quality and compliance with hygiene regulations.
To facilitate communication between Unibelt and the local team, a sales manager from Hamle joined them as an interpreter. This helped bridge the language gap and ensured smooth collaboration on-site.
The installation process ran smoothly, thanks to great collaboration with the local team. Stefan reflects positively on the project, noting that every assignment brings its own unique challenges and valuable lessons. Despite the technical demands, the ultimate goal remains the same: a happy client.
Looking back, Stefan sees the Kazakhstan trip not only as a successful project but also as a memorable cultural experience. For him, it was another valuable step on a professional journey that keeps crossing borders, both geographically and technically.
